An anti-militarist parable inspired partly by McLaren's reaction to the American involvement in Korea. For the first time, McLaren used stop-frame animation or 'pixillation' for the filming of actors, thereby creating a type of violence and speed of tempo normally found only in cartoons, transforming human actors into robots or caricatures.
