LetterboxdPeter Lord's War Story and My Baby Just Cares for Me screened at the inaugural Brief Encounters in 1995, and Wat's Pig followed in 1996. As co-founder of Aardman Animations, Lord has been part of the festival since its very first edition.
He has been in Bristol for the festival repeatedly: presenting his ten favourite cartoons in a Desert Island Flicks event in 2006, celebrating Morph's 30th birthday with Phill Jupitus in 2007, sitting on the Animated Encounters Jury in 2012, giving a masterclass on making feature films in 2013, and marking Aardman's 40th anniversary with David Sproxton in 2016.
